If you were to die before this day is over, would you go to heaven? There's a way to make sure that you would. Think about yourself as you read the following:
First, you must realize that ALL OF US are law breakers (sinners). The Scripture says, "For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard." Romans 3:23 (NLT)
Secondly, sin will cost you your life here and hereafter. We are told, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 (NLT)
Thirdly, Jesus paid the penalty for your sins when He died on the cross 2,000 years ago. This is made clear in the Scriptures, "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." Romans 5:8 (NLT)
Fourthly, sin has to be punished, and the Lord Jesus Christ took your punishment for your sins in His death and then through His glorious resurrection from the dead. "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 (NLT)
Fifthly, believe this in your heart and tell it (confess it) with your mouth, and the Bible says you will be saved. "For it is by believing in your hear that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved." Romans 10:10 (NLT)
Now right there where you are you might start by praying a prayer something like this: "Dear God, I know that I am a sinner in need of forgiveness. I do believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose from the dead for me. I invite you into my heart, Lord Jesus, to be my Savior and Lord. Amen."
You may now want to go to a Bible-believing church somewhere and begin reading your Bible. Our suggestion is to start reading the Gospel of John in the New Testament. It has 21 chapters. Take three weeks and read and re-read a chapter a day to help you get started. If you wish to contact us, we will help you. Send us an e-mail.
