MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME TOUR, June 23 – 29, 2010 (An Eastern Kentucky Adventure!)
Join us as we go through the rolling
pastures of bluegrass where the finest Thoroughbreds can be seen. Trace the
legendary pioneer’s steps through the majestic Cumberland Gap where 200,000
people passed in 1775-1810 into the unknown wilderness. This is the state with
miles of mysterious countryside and incredible caverns. We are going to attend
shows at Renfro Valley Barn Dance that have been going on for 70 years. Radio
and TV shows originated here years ago. Red Foley started here. The old red
barn is still there , and the musicians are excellent. Renfro Valley is the
"Kentucky Music Capital." We’ll visit the Kentucky Music Hall of
Fame. We stay in Berea, the "Folk Arts and Crafts Capital of
Kentucky." Visit the "My Old Kentucky Home" State Park to
remember the Stephen Foster songs so familiar to all of us. This is where he
wrote "My Old Kentucky Home" in 1853, plus many other songs. Have
you ever been to a Shaker Village? We’re going. See the home where Abraham
Lincoln was born and lived his early years. Cross the trails of Daniel Boone.
We’ll have a meal at the original Kentucky Fried Chicken place where Colonel
Sanders created his blend of 11 herbs and spices at Corbin, Kentucky.
This fun and interesting trip will have some extras in taking a look inside
the Toyota Factory near Lexington. Lexington is the "Horse Capital of the
World," and we are going to take in one of the most colorful and
spectacular horse parks/farms in existence anywhere!! Get the stories on all
the derby winners. Famous horses are buried there. You will be talking about
this tour for a long time to come. Come on and "horse around" with
us in June. Get your reservation in right away. This tour is affordable and
well worth every dollar you invest in your own enjoyment, education, and
relaxation to "get away from it all." We can send you a reservation
form by e-mail, and it will be on the back of the printed newsletter we send
through the mail. Contact us by e-mail, by phone, or by snail mail (addresses
at the top). We have included in the tour the famous "Boone Tavern" and the
"second to none" Lodge Restaurant in Renfro Valley. We will be
spending the night going and coming in Dalton, Georgia. This is an extra nice
hotel!! It couldn’t be a more beautiful time of the year to visit Kentucky.
We always have those who are "repeaters," and we appreciate your
going with us. It seems that everyone thinks that it’s fun to be in one of
our groups. We want you to experience the maximum benefit from all and any of
our tours. We want to work for you!!! Everything is pre-planned with your
pleasure in mind. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy it. We have
excellent motor coaches and professional drivers for your comfort and safety.
A restroom is on board. We stop every couple of hours also. OUR ISRAEL/JORDAN TOUR, February 28 - March 10, 2010 is filled up with a
bus load of excited people. Thanks for your prayers as we go. We will announce
our FALL TOUR PLANS very soon. It would be so helpful if you would
forward/pass this message on to your friends. PLEASE! Get a friend or two and
come on. Prices are based on double occupancy.

PASSPORT PROCEDURE FOR FOREIGN TRAVEL
Since passports are good for ten years, go ahead and get one or have yours renewed so that you will be ready to travel. It can take four to five weeks to get it back after you have applied. Rules constantly change, but go get your passport picture made at some mall or store and take a copy of your birth certificate (or an old passport) to the proper office, which may be a post office or a clerk of the circuit court office. If you really get in a jam and need fast service go to www.travisa.com on the Internet. They promise to process your passport within 5 hours, and they have a health section of countries to be visited.
IS ISRAEL MORE DANGEROUS THAN OUR CITIES?
The Internet has listed the 322 most dangerous cities in America, and yet we will flock to them on summer vacations without even thinking about it. Here are the ten most dangerous cities along with Florida's Miami and Orlando in the rankings of all the cities in America. Due to requests for the web site for this information, just click on www.morganquitno.com/cit01dang.htm Go to this web site and look for your own city to get things in perspective.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT TRAVEL SAFETY IN THE WORLD
Peter Greenberg, Travel Editor for NBC'S Today Show, has written an interesting book on travel, The Travel Detective. He said, "The sad fact remains: Americans can be some of the least adventurous people in the world when it comes to travel. We're easily scared by world events: One terrorist incident, and we retreat." I liked the illustration in Greenberg's book about the fact that between 1992 and 1999 there were 92 Americans civilians killed by acts of political terrorism overseas. BUT, about 500 Americans slip, fall, and injure themselves or even die each day stepping out of our bathtubs. If you're afraid to travel, just stay home and take a bath. It is safe for Americans to travel about anywhere in the world. Travel advisories and warnings are not travel bans.
Jerusalem
This seventh century mosque (Gold Dome of the Rock) sits right on top of Mount Moriah where Abraham offered up Isaac and where Solomon built the Temple.
